This Brazilian CDM (CLEAN DEVELOPMENT MECHANISM) project ensures the construction of 2 Small Hydro Power Plants included in the same Project Design Document.

The power plant will then supply electricity to Brazil's National Interconnected System, displacing thermal electricity sources from fossil fuels. It also contributes to environmental sustainability, to meet the growing energy demand on Rio Grande do Sul state, and to decrease external energy dependency. The project activity reduces emissions by avoiding electricity generation through fossil fuel combustion.
